著者と訳者の立場に関する一考察 －小坂文乃著『革命をプロデュースした日本人―評伝・梅屋庄吉』の中国大陸訳書と台湾訳書の相違点から見る翻訳姿勢の比較-

Abstract

This is a double comparative study between a critical biography of Umeya Shokichi, written in Japanese, and its two Chinese translations, one published in Beijing and the other in Taipei. The double comparative study means, first of all, that we try a comparative study of the original Japanese book and with each of the Chinese translations. Secondly, we try another comparative study, but focusing on those parts of the two translations which are edited and changed intentionally or unwittingly by each of the translators. In this way, we hope to reveal the different stances of the two Chinese translators, one from Beijing and the other from Taipei. Umeya Shokichi is a Japanese financial supporter of Sun Yat-sen in his revolutionary activities in China. Umeya's granddaughter, Ayano Kosaka devoted her energy out of her busy work running one of the oldest western-styled restaurants Matsumoto Roh for giving her grandfather a decent reburial. Her critical biography of Umeya was published in 1909, and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the successful overthrow of the old system in China led by Sun Yat-sen, the two translations were published.
